One More Season for Brotherhood?

A small glimmer of hope still remains for Showtime’s Brotherhood, and those hoping for a proper conclusion to the series.

The Hollywood Reporter’s James Hibberd was asked this by one of his Live Feed Blog readers. Hibberd’s response:

“Doubtful, but nothing has yet been decided. As a premium network Showtime would prefer to give the critically acclaimed series a satisfying ending so subscribers don’t feel like they paid for an incomplete story … Showtime will make this decision within the next month.”

Viewers did get somewhat of a resolution at the end of the third season, but as someone who watched Brotherhood from the beginning, I didn’t find it satisfying or complete. There were way too many unanswered questions. I want to see what happens with the Caffee clan: politician Tommy and his wife Eileen, the hot-blooded gangster Michael, cousin Colin, and matriarch Rose.

If you’ve never seen Brotherhood, I highly recommend it. If you’re not sure what to expect, I’d be as bold to say this is one of the decade’s finest dramatic series, right up there with The Wire, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under. Each season is a slow build, but totally worth it.

Were you satisfied with the final episode of Season Three as a conclusion to the series? Or would you like to see one last season to give it the sendoff it rightfully deserves?
